I first met Marcus Holdsworth back in our university days at Plymouth, where we both studied photography. Even back then, it was obvious he had an incredible eye for detail and a creative spark that set him apart. Fast forward to today, and Marcus runs a thriving commercial photography business in Nottingham — and his work is seriously impressive.
I’ve had the pleasure not only of calling Marcus a friend but also of photographing his wedding. Seeing him on the other side of the camera and then watching his career take off has been amazing. He shoots everything from commercial and food photography to fashion, furniture, PR, branding, portraits, and hair photography — and he brings the same passion and precision to every single project.

Marcus has worked with big-name clients, PR agencies, and countless brands, helping them tell their stories through striking, polished images. One thing I really admire is how he takes the time to understand exactly what his clients want, guiding them through the creative process so they end up with photography that genuinely elevates their brand.
Whether he’s capturing the texture of a beautifully plated dish, the sleek lines of expertly crafted furniture, or the energy of a live event, Marcus’s work has this rare ability to make subjects pop off the screen. His recent food shoot in Canary Wharf, where he captured the city's futuristic vibe, is a perfect example of how he blends artistry with commercial appeal.

But beyond his undeniable talent, Marcus is just a genuinely great guy to work with. He’s professional, easygoing, and knows how to put people at ease in front of the camera — something I saw firsthand on his wedding day! His clients always talk about how smooth he makes the whole process, and the results speak for themselves.

If you’re looking for commercial photography that’s creative, meticulous, and full of personality, I can’t recommend Marcus enough. Check out his portfolio at marcusholdsworth.com. And if you happen to book him for a shoot, tell him Russell says hi!
